As well as all the fun of shopping in the city centre either in big brand stores, smaller boutiques or markets there is a massive programme of Christmas events happening all around you, many of which are free and family friendly or is the ideal way to kick start a fantastic night out. A dazzling array of illuminated Art Cars and other amazing vehicles. Fire-breathing, music-making, wild-wheeled mechanical mischief on the streets.
NewcastleGateshead Winter Festival ends with a bang on New Year's Eve as it is transformed and illuminated by the magnificent Glowmobiles parade. New vehicles specially commissioned for this event will be joined by returning favourites such as the Green Goddess fire engine and Tone Float - a milk float which plays a tune on its bottles.
Have breakfast with Santa - How good is that?!
Enjoy breakfast with Santa in the Terrace Restaurant. Every Sunday from 23rd November, 10.30am until 11.30am. Children can meet Santa, enjoy breakfast and receive a gift, all for only £5 (child breakfast price). For more information.
For a truly seasonal experience join in with the Christmas Carol Services including the spectacular Christsmas Eve Service at the stunning St Nicholas Cathedral, tea and minces pies will also be served!
Every Sunday from 9 November for 7 weeks the Tivoli restaurant, will play host to some of the best live Jazz musicians in the region. Each week there are two sittings to choose from, 12pm and 2.15pm. Newcastle's very own outdoor ice rink is back! The Centre for Life launches its ever popular ice rink in Times Square, Newcastle on Saturday 8th November. Prices start from £8.95 to skate but combo tickets are also available that include a visit to the Centre for Life too.
